The Pelvic Health Guide shares general information about women's pelvic and urinary health. It is not medical advice.

Not a substitute for your doctor

The content on this site is for general education only. It is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it doesn't replace a visit to your doctor or another qualified health professional. Always ask your healthcare provider about any questions you have about a medical condition, a symptom or a supplement, and never delay or ignore medical advice because of something you read here.

Who writes the content

Articles and reviews are written by Claire Donovan, who researches women's health but is not a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other licensed health professional. Information is based on published research, medical guidelines and official product information, with sources listed on each page.

When to get care

If you have symptoms of a urinary tract infection, such as burning, urgency or needing to go often, contact your doctor. Get care the same day for fever, chills, back or side pain, or blood in your urine. In an emergency, call 911.

About supplements

Dietary supplements are not evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration before they are sold, and statements about them have not been evaluated by the FDA. Results vary from person to person. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting a supplement, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take prescription medicines.
