The woman behind The Pelvic Health Guide.
I'm Claire Donovan, a 47-year-old woman who became much more interested in women's health after experiencing some of my own challenges with pelvic and urinary health.
What started as a personal search for answers eventually became a much deeper interest in understanding how women's bodies change with age — and what we can do to take better care of ourselves along the way.
I'm not a doctor or healthcare professional. I'm simply someone who has spent years researching these subjects, comparing information, reading scientific research, and looking for reliable answers from trusted and official sources.
I created The Pelvic Health Guide to share what I've learned about pelvic and urinary health, intimate wellness, aging, everyday habits, and products that women may consider as part of their personal care.
I also share my own experiences with products I've tried, while keeping personal experience separate from scientific evidence.
My goal is simple: to make reliable information easier to understand and help women feel more informed about their own health.
How I research
- I go to the source. I read the published studies themselves (usually on PubMed), medical guidelines such as those from the American Urological Association, and health agencies like the NIH.
- I check every number. Percentages, doses and prices are checked against where they came from, and I note the date I checked them.
- I read the label. For product reviews, I start with the Supplement Facts panel and the official order page, not the ads.
- I keep things separate. What research shows, what a brand claims and what I've personally experienced are never mixed together.
- I update. Guides and reviews are revisited when prices, labels or research change.
What I'm not
I'm not a doctor, nurse or pharmacist, and nothing here replaces advice from your own healthcare provider. When something calls for a doctor, I'll always say so clearly. You can read more in the medical disclaimer.
